What a strong BFSI resume shows

Most BFSI resumes we receive list responsibilities. The ones that get shortlisted show evidence. Before you export, check that yours covers these:

  • Target versus achievement, in numbers

“Achieved 118% of an annual premium target of ₹1.2 Cr” tells a hiring manager far more than “responsible for sales targets”. Give the target, the achievement and the period.

  • Product mix and ticket size

Name what you actually sold — term, ULIP, traditional, health, motor, home loans, LAP, mutual funds — and the typical ticket size. BFSI hiring is product-specific, and this is the first filter.

  • Channel and sourcing model

Banca, agency, direct, DSA, open-market, corporate or digital — say which. A banca profile and an agency profile are different jobs, and the channel decides which roles you match.

  • Licences and certifications

IRDAI, NISM series, AMFI/ARN, NCFM, CAIIB or JAIIB — list them with the year. These are frequently non-negotiable screening criteria, and leaving them out gets a good profile rejected.

  • Team, territory and portfolio size

Advisors recruited and activated, branches or territory covered, book or AUM handled, persistency and collection ratios. Scale is how a recruiter places you at the right level.

  • Systems you have worked on

CRM and core systems — Salesforce, LeadSquared, Finacle, or an in-house LMS — plus Excel depth. It signals how quickly you will be productive.

Getting past the applicant tracking system

  • Keep one column. Multi-column templates, text boxes and sidebars are read out of order or dropped entirely.
  • Skip logos, headshots, icons and charts — an ATS reads none of them, and some parsers fail on the images.
  • Use ordinary section headings: Experience, Education, Skills, Certifications. Clever headings get filed as nothing.
  • Write dates the same way throughout (MMM YYYY), and account for gaps rather than hiding them.
  • Mirror the words in the job description. If the role says “banca channel”, do not only write “bancassurance”.
  • Export as PDF unless the posting asks for DOCX, and name the file with your own name.

Common questions

Is the resume builder really free?
Yes. Building a resume and downloading the PDF are free, and no payment details are asked for at any point.
Do I need an account to use it?
No. You can build a resume and download the PDF without signing up. An account is only needed if you want to save it, come back to it later, or apply to Swaraaj Consultancy roles with it.
Is the resume ATS-friendly?
Yes. The layout is single-column with standard headings and no images, which is what applicant tracking systems parse most reliably.
Can I use it if I am not applying to Swaraaj Consultancy?
Yes. The resume is yours to use for any application, anywhere. We offer it because better resumes make our shortlists better too.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. The builder works in a mobile browser, though a larger screen is easier for longer edits.
