Healthcare BPO jobs in India: claims, billing, AR calling and patient support

· Swaraaj Consultancy

Healthcare BPO ads often use one label for several jobs. Claims processing, medical billing, AR calling, denial management and patient support do not ask for the same day or the same evidence on a resume. This page explains the work and what gets a profile shortlisted. It is a guide, not a vacancy list. Live openings are on the careers portal, and they change.

What each process actually involves

Read the process on the listing before you apply. The label healthcare BPO is not enough to tell you the work.

  • Claims processing: you check a claim against the documents and the rules on the file, then move it to the next status. You are not diagnosing a patient.
  • Medical billing: you turn a visit or a procedure into a bill the payer can accept. The work is accuracy in a billing system, not a sales call.
  • AR calling: you phone payers or providers about unpaid or stuck accounts. It is outbound voice work with a resolution target.
  • Denial management: you read why a claim was denied and correct it or appeal it. The denial reason is what you have to explain.
  • Patient support: you answer patients about appointments, bills or status, by phone or in writing. Voice and non-voice are different seats.

Shift, and voice or non-voice

Many healthcare processes run night shifts or US hours. The listing should say the shift. Apply only if you can work those hours.

Voice means you are on calls: AR calling, and patient support when the posting says voice. Non-voice means chat, email or back-office work on claims, billing or denials, where typing and written English matter more than how you sound. Say which you have done, and which you will not do.

What gets you shortlisted

Screening is specific. A line that only says healthcare BPO does not tell a recruiter which desk you can sit on.

  • Name the process: claims, billing, AR calling, denial management or patient support.
  • State voice or non-voice, and the shift you have worked or can work.
  • If you hold a coding credential, name it and the year. If you do not, do not imply one. Many seats do not ask for CPC, CCS or a similar certificate. The listing decides, not this page.
  • Add a number only if you have one: claims handled, accounts worked, denials corrected. Leave it off rather than guess.
  • Name the city you can work in. Do not assume the role is remote unless the listing says so.

Where the live openings are

Open the careers portal and search healthcare, claims, billing, AR, denial or patient support. Titles vary, and a role that is open this week may not be there next week. If nothing matches, this page is still only a guide. Do not treat an email to the company inbox as an application for a live role.

You can build a free resume first. No account is needed to download the PDF. The BPO and KPO jobs page explains the wider voice and non-voice split if you are still choosing a desk.

Common questions

Do I need a US medical coding certification?
Not for every seat. Some billing or coding listings ask for one. If you have CPC, CCS or a similar credential, put the name and the year on the resume. If you do not, apply only where the listing does not require it. Do not add a certification you do not hold.
Is AR calling the same as patient support?
No. AR calling chases unpaid or stuck accounts, usually with a payer or a provider. Patient support answers patients about appointments, bills or status. Apply to the one you have done, or say clearly that you are moving across.
Are healthcare BPO jobs only in Gujarat?
No. Hiring for these teams runs across metro cities in India. The listing names the city. This page does not keep a city-by-city vacancy list.
How do I see live healthcare BPO jobs?
Browse careers.swaraajconsultancy.in. That list is live and it changes. This article is a guide, not a vacancy board.
