Hiring a collections team in India: tele-calling and field
· Swaraaj Consultancy
A collections brief that only says collections produces the wrong shortlist. Tele-calling and field work are different jobs, and a profile that fits one often fails the next. This is what to name before a search starts. We hire these teams across metro cities in India. Collections is a service we already offer, and that service page is where the staffing process is written down.
Tele-collections and field collections are different hires
Treat the channel as the job. A tele-collections executive is not a field collections officer. The role has high targets and pressure.
- Tele-collections: phone work against a target. Language on the call is the skill. The person is not travelling an area.
- Field collections: the person visits an area. Field roles need a two-wheeler and knowledge of the local area, and the person has to be ready to travel.
- The same brief can also name team leaders, recovery and follow-up specialists, or area and cluster managers. Each of those is its own seat. Do not leave the title as collections.
What the brief has to name
Leave one of these out and the shortlist mixes people who cannot work the channel, the city, or the languages your process uses.
- Tele or field. One mandate can cover both, but each seat should say which. We do not guess the channel.
- The city. We plan the batches city by city. A city the brief does not name is not in the search.
- The languages that process needs in that city. Language matters in each city. Tell us the languages, and we will confirm what we can source before we start. We do not promise every language in every city.
- The targets and the pay structure. We talk openly about both before the interview, which helps reduce early exits. Write them in the brief so that conversation matches the seat.
- The batch size, and whether you need freshers, experienced people, or both. Sourcing follows the number of interviews you can actually run.
How screening works
Screening follows the brief. It checks what the person has done. It does not invent a history.
- Past collections experience, and the targets handled, only when the candidate has them. A fresher brief is not screened as if everyone already carried a number.
- A language check on the phone, for the languages you named.
- For field roles: the area, a two-wheeler, and travel readiness.
- A clear conversation about the targets before the interview. The target in that conversation is the one in your brief.
Where we hire
We hire these teams across metro cities in India. That is not a ready bench in a city the brief has not named. Name the city and we will tell you what the search involves there, including when we would be sourcing it from scratch.
Swaraaj works from Rajkot and Ahmedabad. Collections is a service we already offer. We will not quote a headcount for a city the brief has not named, and we will not quote one for the service.
Common questions
- Do you hire for both tele and field collections?
- Yes, when the brief names which. Tell us tele, field, or both, and the city, and we plan the sourcing around that. We do not pick the channel for you.
- Can you hire city by city?
- Yes, for the cities the brief names. We plan the batches city by city with you before we start, so you know what is realistic. A city that is not in the brief is not in the search.
- Can you source any language in any city?
- Only for the cities and the languages named in the brief. We confirm what we can source before we start. We do not guarantee every language in every city.
- How do we start?
- Submit a requirement on the Hire page, or email amit@swaraajconsultancy.in. We reply during business hours, Monday to Friday.
