Hiring a GCC operations team in India: finance, HR, procurement and support

A GCC operations brief that only says GCC produces the wrong shortlist. Finance operations, HR operations, procurement and support are different jobs, and a profile that fits one often fails the next. This is what to name before a search starts. These processes are not the same hire
Treat the process as the job. The word GCC is not a role. These seats are not interchangeable.
- Finance operations (AP, AR, general accounting). Name which of those the seat does.
- HR operations and payroll. If the seat is only one of those, say which.
- Procurement and vendor support. Do not leave the title as operations.
- Data and reporting support. This is support for the data and the reports the process uses. It is not a software-engineering role.
- Customer and service desk. Name customer desk or service desk.
- Team leaders and process managers. Each is its own seat. Do not fold either into the desk title.
What the brief must name
Leave one of these out and the shortlist mixes people who have not done the process, or who cannot join in the city and the phase you named.
- The process. One of the seats above. We do not guess which desk it is.
- The city. We plan the search city by city. A city the brief does not name is not in the search.
- The phase. Name the phase this search is for. We hire in phases only when the brief names them.
- The batch size. Sourcing follows the number of interviews you can actually run.
- Fresher or experienced. Say which. A fresher brief is not screened as if everyone already ran the process.
How screening works
Screening follows the brief. It checks the process the person has done. It does not invent a history.
- Role fit and past process experience. The process on the profile has to be the process on the brief.
- Communication, and a basic skills check only where the seat needs one.
- Notice period and joining readiness.
Where we hire
We hire these roles across metro cities in India. That is not a ready bench in a city the brief has not named. Name the city and we will tell you what the search involves there, including when we would be sourcing it from scratch.
